How do I join the RunFast 200, and what counts?
Updated
Join from the banner on Runs from 1 November, with no Strava needed. Runs count from Run live and from FIT or GPX files you upload, plus Strava if you connect it. The public leaderboard at livedot.me/200 shows verified kilometres only, and you’re on it only if you switch on Show me publicly.
Join
From 1 November until 31 December, a banner at the top of Runs says Join, on runfast.tech/app and in the RunFast app. Tap it, and you’re in: “Free, anywhere in the world. No Strava needed.” Once you’re in, the banner’s Open takes you to the RunFast 200’s own screen. You can join halfway through: every run since 16 December counts, whenever you joined.
What counts
Every run that starts between 00:00 GMT on 16 December and 23:59 GMT on 31 December, from any of these:
- Run live in the RunFast app. It counts by itself when you finish. See Run live.
- A FIT or GPX file you upload from your watch. RunFast checks it first. See uploading a file.
- Strava, if you’ve connected it. It’s optional.
Treadmill runs count too. A run that comes in two ways, such as Run live and your watch, counts once: the longer one.
Verified kilometres
Verified kilometres are the ones we hold the proof for: runs recorded with Run live, and files you uploaded that passed the checks.
- Your own total counts everything, Strava included. Only you see it, and it decides your finisher card.
- Anything public shows verified kilometres only: the leaderboard, the challenge’s page on livedot and your livedot link. Strava’s kilometres are never shown to anyone else.
Show me publicly
Show me publicly is off unless you switch it on, on the RunFast 200 screen (runfast.tech/app/#/r200, or in the app): “On the leaderboard and your livedot link, as your first name and initial. Verified kilometres only.” Your country shows beside it, from your phone’s time zone.
With it on:
- The leaderboard at livedot.me/200 shows you, with your verified kilometres, your rank and a finisher mark at 200 verified km.
- Your livedot link shows a RunFast 200 card: your verified kilometres of 200, your rank and, once you’ve done it, your finisher mark. It shows from 1 November until 31 January. See your livedot link.
Switch it off, and you leave the leaderboard and the card goes. Nothing about the challenge shows on your livedot link unless it’s on.
While you run
The challenge’s page at livedot.me/200 shows everyone’s verified kilometres together, counting live, and the leaderboard, with who’s out now on a map. You’re on that map only on a run you start with Show me on the challenge map switched on: it’s off unless you switch it on, every run, and your dot never shows while you’re stopped, in your first kilometre or within 1 km of where you started. See Run live.
While you’re on Run live and someone holding your link may see you, your livedot link opens your live view, as a race does.
Finish
Pass 200 km and you’ve done it. Your finisher card comes on 3 January. See the RunFast 200.
Joining, uploads, Show me publicly and your runs are on the web at runfast.tech/app/#/r200, and in the RunFast app on iPhone and Android from its next update, around 10 December. Run live is in the app only.
