Run live: record any run, with no route needed
Updated
Run live records any run, with no route or race needed. Tap New run, then Run live, then Start. Followers can watch only if you switch on “Followers can see me”, and the finished run goes to Past, private, with its track. It counts toward the RunFast 200 if you’ve joined.
Run live is live tracking for your own run: any route, any day, with no race to add first. It isn’t social. There’s no feed, no kudos and no comments.
Start a run
- Tap New run, then Run live: “Record a run now. No route needed.”
- Choose whether Followers can see me (below).
- Tap Start.
Run live uses your location while you run. You can stop any time.
Who can watch
The Start screen has one switch, Followers can see me:
- Off: “Only you see this run.” Your first Run live starts with it off.
- On: anyone with your follow link or your livedot link can watch the run live, in any browser, with no account, and so can the people who follow you in the app. There’s no approval step for the links: share them only with people you want watching. See your followers.
RunFast remembers your choice for your next run.
Your home stays private. Followers see your dot only while you’re running: not while you’re paused or stopped, never in your first kilometre, and never within 1 km of where you started. Your line never shows the first kilometre, and after the finish it never shows the last one.
Show me on the challenge map
While you’re entered in the RunFast 200 and it’s on, the Start screen has a second switch under Followers can see me: Show me on the challenge map.
- Off unless you switch it on, on every run. It’s never remembered.
- On: you appear in “out now” on livedot.me/200, with your first name, last initial and distance, for anyone to see. The same home privacy holds: no dot while you’re stopped, in your first kilometre or within 1 km of where you started.
Pauses and auto-stop
- Pause any time. Stopping at the lights or for a drink never ends the run.
- After 20 minutes without moving, RunFast asks “Still running?”. Tap it to carry on. With no answer in 5 minutes, the run pauses, and it carries on when you move again.
- After 14 hours, the run ends by itself, and everything recorded is kept.
Finish
End the run, and you see your summary: the distance, your time and the weather you had.
There’s no save question. Every finished run goes to Past automatically, as your own run: private, with its full track. The finish screen offers Rename and Delete.
- Rename gives the run a name you’ll recognise.
- Delete removes the run and its track from Past at once. If it counted toward the RunFast 200, it keeps counting: only its date, distance, time and sport are kept. The raw positions your phone sent are held until the run is counted, which can take up to 7 days if counting is delayed, then deleted.
Run it again
Open the run in Past and change its date. It becomes an upcoming run again, with its forecast and Fly the route. It stays private to you. See Past.
The RunFast 200
If you’ve joined the RunFast 200, every Run live from 16 to 31 December counts by itself, as verified kilometres. A run that needs a closer look says “We’re checking this one. It counts once it’s approved.” See joining the RunFast 200.
What’s kept
- The run in Past, with its track, until you delete it or your account. It never appears on livedot.
- While you run, the positions your phone sends are held only until it’s counted, and never more than 7 days.
- After Delete: only the date, distance, time and sport, for the RunFast 200.

Run live comes to the RunFast app on iPhone and Android in the next update, around 10 December. Followers watch in any browser, with no app or account.
