Most asked
- Can I follow a runner without an account or the app?Yes. Open the link the runner sent you, runfast.tech/f/ and their code, in any browser on a phone or computer, and you see them live on the map straight away, with no account and nothing to install. The RunFast app on iPhone and Android follows without an account too, and can tell you when they start and finish.
- How do I turn on live tracking for a race?Open the race to edit it, or add a new one, and switch on Live tracking. Your link appears with your share picture and Findable by anyone. It takes effect at once. On race day, you go live from the RunFast app on your phone, and people follow you from your link.
- How do I add a race?Choose New run, then Race. Drop in the race’s route file, give it a name, and set its date and gun time. Add your goal time and a few words of your own if you like, and turn on Live tracking if you want people to follow you on the day. Then choose Save the race.
- How do I go live on race day?Two hours before the gun your phone reminds you, with Go live on the notification. Or open the race in the RunFast app on your iPhone or Android phone, tap Go live, check your start and plan, and tap Start live tracking. Live tracking must be on for that race first. Your phone sends your position every 30 seconds, and it stops by itself at the finish.
- How do I join my club and say I’m in?Open your club’s page from its link, or from Clubs, and choose Join the club or Ask to join. Then tap I’m in on any of its runs or races, or Every week on a weekly run. It goes on your Runs list, with its forecast by email the evening before. Changed your mind? Tap Can’t make it.
- What is The RunFast 200 by ProLend?A free challenge: run 200 km between 16 and 31 December, anywhere in the world. Join from the banner on Runs, connect Strava, and RunFast counts your kilometres from your runs. Finish, and you get a finisher card to share.
- How do I share my live tracking?Turn on Live tracking for your race, then tap Share, Save the picture or WhatsApp under your share picture. Or tap ⋯ on the race in Runs and choose Share my live tracking. People get a tall picture of you, your race, your goal and the course, with your link to follow you live.
- What is a tap on the back? While you follow a runner who’s live, tap “Give them a tap on the back”. Their phone buzzes and sparkles, and they see how many taps they’ve had. Sign up, and they see it was you. Race maps on the web show the race’s total.
- What’s the difference between a casual run and a race?A casual run is a route you run once or every week, with its weather at your pace and the forecast by email the evening before. A race is on one day at its gun time, and adds your goal, your own words for your share picture, and live tracking so people can follow you.
- How do I set my goal and live tracking for a club race?Tap I’m in on the club’s race first. It joins your Runs list. Then tap ⋯ on its card and choose Your goal and live tracking: add your goal time and a few words if you like, and switch on Live tracking so people can follow you. They’re your own, not the club’s.
