What’s the difference between a casual run and a race?
Updated
A casual run is a route you run once or every week, with its weather at your pace and the forecast by email the evening before. A race is on one day at its gun time, and adds your goal, your own words for your share picture, and live tracking so people can follow you.
When you choose New run, RunFast asks first what it is: Casual run or Race. It’s the same on runfast.tech and in the iPhone and Android apps.

Choose a casual run when
It’s a training run, your Saturday long run, or a route you want the weather for. See adding a casual run.
Choose a race when
It has a start gun and you’d like people to follow you, or to see how you did against a goal. See adding a race.
Change your mind
Open Runs, tap ⋯ on the card and choose Edit. What is it? at the top switches between Casual run and Race.
Turning a race into a casual run turns its live tracking off. Your link stops showing it, and you can’t go live on it.
Club runs and races
Clubs add their own runs and races. You don’t add them yourself: tap I’m in on the club’s page and they join your runs. See joining your club’s runs.
