Why does a runner’s link say it has been reset?
Updated
The runner made a new follow link, so the old one stopped working for everyone who only had that one. Ask them to send you their new link, open it, and you’re following again. On runfast.tech, choose Remove it to clear the old link from your list.
What you’ll see
- On runfast.tech: “A link stopped working. That link has been reset. Ask the runner for a new one.” with Remove it.
- In the RunFast app: a message that the link isn’t working, and to ask them for a new one.
Follow them again
- Ask the runner for their new link. They’ll find it in the RunFast app under You, or on their race when live tracking is on.
- Open the new link. You’re following again.
- On runfast.tech, choose Remove it beside the old link to tidy your list.
Why runners reset
A runner resets their link to choose again who follows them, for example after posting it publicly. Everyone who only had the old link stops following. See follow links and resetting them.
It isn’t something you did, and nothing is wrong with your phone.
Can’t reach them?
If they turned on Findable by anyone for their race, you can find them by name instead. See following by name.
Other reasons a link won’t open
- Part of it is missing. A follow link is runfast.tech/f/ followed by a code. Copy the whole link from the message.
- “That link didn’t work.” Check you pasted the whole link, then ask the runner to send it again.
- “That runner has left RunFast.” They deleted their account, so their link has gone too.
