How do I find and follow a runner by name?
Updated
Open runfast.tech/follow, or the Live tab in the RunFast app, and type at least 3 letters of their name. Runners who match appear as you type: tap Follow. Only runners who turned on Findable by anyone for their race show up. If they haven’t, ask them for their link instead.
Search
- Open runfast.tech/follow on any phone or computer, or the Live tab in the RunFast app.
- Type at least 3 letters of their name. Runners who match appear as you type, with their race.
- Tap Follow beside the right one. It changes to Following.
No account and no request: they show whenever they’re live with Findable by anyone on. Before their race, you see their goal and a countdown to the gun.
The same search is in the box on the live map at runfast.tech/live: A runner’s link or name.
On a club race’s live map
A club race’s live map has its own Find a runner by name box, for the runners in that race. See a club race’s live map.
Nobody found?
RunFast says “Nobody by that name has chosen to be found.” Runners turn on Findable by anyone for a race, and many don’t. Ask them for their link: it works whether they’re findable or not. See why you can’t find someone.
Good to know
- You can follow up to 20 runners. See how many you can follow.
- On runfast.tech, the runners you follow are remembered in that browser.
- Runners who turn Findable by anyone off drop out of searches straight away, and you stop seeing them unless you also have their link.
- For alerts when they start, reach halfway and finish, follow them in the app from their link. See alerts.
