What is my follow link, and how do I reset it?

Updated

Your follow link, runfast.tech/f/ and a short code, is how people follow you on race day, with no account. It shows when you turn on Live tracking for a race, and in the app under You, then Followers. Tap Reset for a new one: the old link stops working for anyone who only had it.

Find it

  • On a race: turn on Live tracking, and Your link shows with Copy. See turning on live tracking.
  • On runfast.tech: open Runs, tap ⋯ on a race with live tracking on, and choose Share my live tracking.
  • In the iPhone and Android apps: open You. Your follow link has Share, and Followers shows it under Your link.

It looks like runfast.tech/f/ followed by a short code of letters and numbers. You have one link, the same for every race, until you reset it.

What people see from it

Anyone with the link, in any browser or in the RunFast app, with no account:

  • Before the gun: your next race with live tracking on, your goal, your words and a countdown to the start.
  • During the race: where you are, your pace, when you’ll finish and how you’re doing against your goal.
  • When you’ve no race with live tracking on: that you’re not running right now.

Turning off Live tracking for a race takes that race off your link: “Live tracking is off. Your link doesn’t show this race.”

Reset it

  1. In the RunFast app, open You, then Followers.
  2. Under Your link, tap Reset.
  3. RunFast asks first: people who only have your old link stop following you, and people you approved keep following. Tap Reset.
  4. Share your new link with the people you want.

Anyone opening the old link is told it has been reset. See a link that has been reset.

When to reset

  • You posted the link somewhere public, and the race is over.
  • You’d like a fresh start before your next race.
  • Someone you don’t want following you has it.

To take one person off who follows you in the app, you don’t need to reset: remove them instead. See your followers.
