What does Findable by anyone do?
Updated
Findable by anyone is a switch in a race’s live tracking. On, anyone can find you by your name and follow you, and you’re on the live map of your club’s races you’re in. Off, the default, only people with your link can follow you. It only counts while Live tracking is on for that race.
Switch it on
- Open the race’s live tracking: Edit on your own race, or Your goal and live tracking on a club race you’re in. See turning on live tracking.
- With Live tracking on, switch on Findable by anyone.
RunFast says “Anyone can find you by your name now.” It works the same on runfast.tech and in the iPhone and Android apps. It’s off unless you switch it on, for each race.
What it does
- People can search your name: at least 3 letters, on runfast.tech/follow, on the live map at runfast.tech/live, and in the RunFast app. They follow you straight away, with no account. See following by name.
- Before the race, you show up with your race, your goal and your words, so people can follow you ahead of the gun.
- During the race, they see you while you’re live.
- On your club’s race, you’re on the race’s live map, which anyone can open. See a club race’s live map.
The name people search is the name on your RunFast account. Change it in Account on the web. See signing in.
Switch it off
Switch off Findable by anyone. RunFast says “Only people with your link can follow you now.” You drop out of name searches and off the club race’s live map straight away.
People who already follow you from a search keep following until you remove them in the app. See your followers.
Without it
Only people with your link can follow you. See your follow link.
