Can I get alerts when a runner starts, reaches halfway and finishes?
Updated
Yes, in the RunFast app on iPhone or Android. Follow a runner from their link and tap Turn on alerts: the app tells you when they start, reach halfway and finish, with their finish time. You don’t need an account. runfast.tech doesn’t send alerts: keep the runner’s page open instead.
Turn them on
- Follow a runner in the RunFast app from their link. See following without an account.
- The app asks: “We’ll tell you when they start, reach halfway and finish. Nothing else.”
- Tap Turn on alerts, then allow notifications when your phone asks. Not now skips it.
To change them for one runner, tap the bell on that runner’s screen.
What you get
- They start: for example “Alex started City Marathon”.
- Halfway: “Alex is halfway”.
- They finish: with their time, such as “Alex finished in 3:58”.
Tap an alert to open that runner on the map.
Good to know
- No account needed. With no account, the app registers your phone for alerts under a random code, not your name.
- Runners you found by name don’t send alerts. For alerts, follow them from their link.
- If the runner removes you from their followers, or resets their link, the alerts stop.
- runfast.tech doesn’t send alerts. In a browser, keep the runner’s page open: it updates every 10 seconds while they’re running.
- No alerts arriving? Check that notifications for RunFast are on in your phone’s Settings.
