How do I find someone in a race with livedot in ChatGPT or Claude?

Ask for them

In ChatGPT or Claude, add livedot: search for it, or add it at https://livedot.me/mcp. No account needed. See using livedot in ChatGPT and Claude.

Then ask the way you’d say it:

• By name and race: “Where’s Megan in the Comrades?”
• By their livedot link: “Where’s livedot.me/megan?” or “@megan”. See your livedot link.
• By their follow link: paste the runfast.tech/f/… link they sent you.

A link points to one person, so it answers straight away. A name finds runners who switched on Findable by anyone for a public race.

When several people match

livedot never guesses between people. With a common name, it shows a short list in the chat:

• the runners who are live first, then the one whose livedot link matches the name, then the closest names;
• each with how far they’ve run and their pace, so you can tell them apart;
• a box to narrow it by surname or initial.

Tap the right one, or tell the assistant a surname or initial, and you get their live answer. Their livedot link avoids the question: ask them for it before race day.

When nobody matches

livedot says so plainly. Usually the runner hasn’t switched on Findable by anyone, hasn’t gone live yet, or isn’t racing right now. Ask them for their livedot link or follow link instead. Give at least three letters of a name. See nobody found by name.

The whole race

Ask “How’s the Comrades going?” for the race itself: how long it’s been under way, how many runners are on the map, how many have finished and who’s out front, with a map of the field and Watch the race, the race’s live map on runfast.tech. If the race isn’t live yet, livedot says when it starts, if that’s in the next two weeks.

Try it now

The Comrades demo runs every day. Ask “Where’s Megan in the Comrades demo?” or “How’s the Comrades demo going?”
