How do I send a tap on the back with livedot in ChatGPT or Claude?
Updated
Ask livedot in ChatGPT or Claude to give your runner a tap on the back. It buzzes on their phone, as a tap from their live page does, with your name if your RunFast account is connected, or the first name you give. One a minute, while they’re live or in the day after they finish.
Send one
- In ChatGPT or Claude with livedot added (search for it, or add it at
https://livedot.me/mcp), ask where your runner is: “Where’s Megan in the Comrades?” or their livedot link. See following a runner live with livedot. - Say “Give her a tap on the back.”
- livedot sends it and says so: “Tap sent. Megan will feel it on their phone.” The live map comes with it.
It’s the same tap as on their live page: their phone buzzes and sparkles, and they see the count. See a tap on the back. livedot only sends a tap when you ask, one each time.
How your name shows
- Your RunFast account connected: your own short public name, as on the live page. See connecting your RunFast account.
- Not connected: the first name you give: “Give her a tap from Sam.”
- Neither: the tap still counts, with no name. livedot tells you so.
Who you can tap
Anyone you could tap on their own follow page, and no one else:
- runners who are live on a race, or who finished in the last day, when the tap lands as a congratulation;
- runners who take taps from anyone; if they only take taps from people who follow them or have their link, ask about them by that link.
You can’t tap someone who turned taps off, or a private race through a livedot link. livedot says plainly when a tap can’t go.
Good to know
- One a minute to the same person, as on the live page.
- Try it: “Give Megan in the Comrades demo a tap on the back.” The demo runner feels it in the demo; nothing is kept.
