How do I find a running club near me?

Updated

Ask livedot in ChatGPT or Claude, for example “best running club to join in Fourways” or “trail runs near Cape Town in November”. It lists RunFast clubs and club runs near that place, nearest first, with their weekly sessions and next run. Tap Join or I’m in to open the club or run page.

Ask livedot

In ChatGPT or Claude, add livedot: search for it, or add it at https://livedot.me/mcp. No account needed. See using livedot in ChatGPT and Claude.

Then ask the way you’d say it:

  • “Best running club to join in Fourways”
  • “Beginner running group near Sandton”
  • “Trail runs near Cape Town in November”

livedot answers with a list, nearest first. Each club shows its weekly sessions (for example “Tue & Thu 17:30 · Sat 06:00 from Fourways Mall”), Beginners welcome and its pace groups where the club has said so, and its next run with the weather. Club runs and races show their date, where they start and the weather.

Join

Tap Join on a club. The club’s page opens on RunFast. If you’re not signed in, you make a free account or sign in in the same step, and come straight back to the page, joined. A club that approves each member sees your request first.

On a club run or race, tap I’m in. Its page opens, with I’m in there too: it goes on your Runs list, with the forecast by email the evening before. See joining your club and saying you’re in.

No ChatGPT or Claude?

Open the club’s page from its own link, at runfast.tech/c/ followed by the club’s name, and choose Join the club. Or sign in at runfast.tech/app, open Clubs and search under Find your club.

Is your club missing?

If you run a club and it isn’t listed, add it: sign in at runfast.tech/app, open Clubs and choose Add your club, or go straight to Add your club. We reply by email, usually within a day. Then add your area on the club’s screen so people near you find it: see getting your club found on livedot.

What you’ll see, and what you won’t

Only clubs RunFast has approved, with the details they chose to show, and only their published public runs and races. Never a person, never a private run, and never someone’s own runs. A club that hasn’t added its area yet won’t show up in livedot; you can still find it on its own page.
