How do I get my club found on livedot?
Updated
On your club’s screen at runfast.tech/app, fill in Get found: your home area, sports, weekly sessions, who can come, Beginners welcome, pace groups, who the club is for and your club’s links, then Save. A club with public club runs is found even before that: its area comes from where its runs start. People asking ChatGPT or Claude for a club near them find it through livedot.
Why it matters
Every January, people who’ve decided to start running ask ChatGPT or Claude things like “best running club to join in Fourways”. With livedot added, the answer lists clubs near them from RunFast, each with its weekly sessions, the next run and a Join button that opens your club’s page. Your area is what puts you on that list: a club without one can’t be placed on a map, so it isn’t found.
Not on RunFast yet?
If your club isn’t on RunFast yet, ask for its page first: see getting your club on RunFast. It’s free, and we reply by email, usually within a day. livedot’s answers, and its area pages at livedot.me/clubs, point clubs that aren’t listed to the same place.
Fill it in
Club managers only:
- Sign in at runfast.tech/app, open Clubs, then your club. Or tap Manage the club on its page.
- Under Get found, type your suburb or town in Home area and pick it from the list. Clear takes it off.
- Tap your sports: Road running, Trail running, and any others the club does.
- Under Who can come, choose Open to anyone or Members only. Turn on Beginners welcome if a new runner can come along and keep up.
- Add your pace groups in a few words, for example “5:30–7:00 /km”, and one line on who it’s for. Add Your club’s links (Biotree) if you have one page for your kit shop, socials and WhatsApp group: it shows as Links & shop on your club’s page.
- Under Weekly sessions, choose Add a session for each one that isn’t already a weekly run on RunFast: the day, the time and where you meet. Up to 7.
- Choose Save. Your club’s page shows it straight away; livedot’s answers catch up within about 10 minutes.
Nothing is required.
An area from your club runs
If your club has published, public club runs but no area yet, RunFast works one out for you: the place where most of your runs start, kept to about 100 m and named by its suburb or town. Your club is found with it straight away. Under Get found it’s filled in with the line “We set this from your club runs. Change it if it’s wrong.” Choose Change to pick another, or Save to keep it as your own. The area you set always wins. Only your club’s own published, public weekly runs and coming one-offs count: never private runs, drafts or anyone’s own runs.
With no area and no public club runs, the club’s screen reminds you: “Add your area so people near you can find you.”
Your weekly runs count by themselves
Every published weekly run on your club is already a session, with its day, time and where it starts. They’re listed under From your weekly runs, so you don’t add them again. Private runs and drafts never count.
What becomes public
Everything under Get found shows on your club’s page and in livedot’s answers: your area, sports, sessions, Open to anyone, Beginners welcome, pace groups, who it’s for and your links, beside the club’s name and logo. Your area is a suburb or town, kept to about 100 m: use where you meet, never a home address.
Never shown: your members, managers, who’s running by name, private runs and drafts. livedot lists clubs only, never a person.
Then what
Someone taps Join in ChatGPT or Claude and lands on your club’s page, where they make a free account or sign in in the same step, and come straight back to it, joined. You see them in Members, or under Asked to join if the club approves each member. See getting your club on RunFast.
