How do I give my club a Biotree?

Updated

On your club’s screen at runfast.tech/app, a club manager presses Create our club’s Biotree. RunFast makes the club’s own free Biotree page, yourclub.biotree.bio, from its RunFast page: its name, logo, a one-line bio and its links. Add your kit shop, socials and WhatsApp group on Biotree.

What it is

A Biotree is one link for everything your club has: the kit shop, Instagram, the WhatsApp group, the club page. RunFast can make your club’s in one tap, already filled in from your RunFast club page, at yourclub.biotree.bio. It’s free, with everything Biotree Pro has.

Make it

  1. Sign in at runfast.tech/app, open Clubs, then your club. Only the club’s managers see this.
  2. Under Create our club’s Biotree, add the club contact email. Use the club’s address (for example info@yourclub.co.za), not your own: Biotree keys the page by this email, so it stays the club’s when managers change.
  3. Check the handle. It starts as your club’s RunFast address; it becomes yourclub.biotree.bio.
  4. Press Email the club a code. We’ll email a 6-digit code to the club address, so only someone who reads the club’s inbox can make its Biotree. It works for 15 minutes.
  5. Type the code under Code from the club’s inbox, look over the preview, then press Create our club’s Biotree. No email? Send a new code, or Use another address.

Your Biotree is live straight away, and it becomes your club page’s Links & shop button, unless you’d already set your own link there.

What goes on it

Your club’s name, logo and one line about it (your “who it’s for”, or “runs and races, live on livedot”), your website and Strava club if the page has them, and four buttons: Our club, Join us, Watch us live (your next club race, when there is one) and Follow on livedot. Add the rest, like your kit shop and socials, on Biotree itself.

Keeping it up to date

When your club’s name, logo or “who it’s for” changes, or a club race is published or taken down, your Biotree follows by itself. Press Refresh our Biotree any time. Only what changed is sent; anything you added on Biotree stays as it is.

If your club is on Windline too, using the same club email there gives you the same Biotree page, not a second one.

If it says…

  • This email already has a Biotree. Someone has a Biotree on that address already. Use a different club address, or paste the existing Biotree’s address and press Link it as Links & shop.
  • That address already has a club Biotree through livedot. Another club uses that address. If it’s your club, paste the existing Biotree’s address and press Link it as Links & shop.
  • That code isn’t right / has expired. Check the club’s inbox for the latest code, or ask for a new one. After 5 wrong tries, ask for a new code. You can ask for 3 codes an hour.
  • That handle is taken. Pick one of the suggestions, or type another. RunFast never picks one for you.
  • Use the club’s address, not your own. The email is yours or another manager’s. Use the club’s own address.
  • Biotree couldn’t do that just now. We’ve been told. Try again later.

What’s sent, and taking it down

Only when a manager asks for it, we email a one-time code to the club’s contact email (we keep only a scrambled copy of it, for 15 minutes). Only when a manager then presses the button: the club’s contact email, name, logo, one-line bio and its public links. Never your members, never who’s running, never the manager’s own details, and the contact email never shows on your club’s page. See Privacy. To take the page down, use Biotree’s own controls, or contact us and we’ll do it.
