How do I create a run or race with livedot in ChatGPT or Claude?
Updated
In ChatGPT or Claude with livedot, sign in with your RunFast account, attach the route’s GPX and say when: “Save this as my Sunday long run, every Sunday at 6:00” or “Add this race on 1 March, gun at 5:30.” livedot saves it in your Runs. One route per run or race: RunFast doesn’t do multi-day events.
Before you start
- livedot in ChatGPT or Claude: search for livedot, or add it at
https://livedot.me/mcp. See using livedot in ChatGPT and Claude. - Your RunFast account, connected the first time you ask. See connecting your RunFast account.
- The route: a GPX file, or a Ride with GPS link or any public link to a GPX file. Strava links don’t work here.
Make it
- Attach the route.
- Say what it is and when:
- a casual run, once or every week: “Save this as my Sunday long run, every Sunday at 6:00”;
- a race, on its date at its gun time: “Add this as the Valley Half, 1 March, gun at 5:30.”
- livedot saves it in your Runs and tells you what it made, with Open in RunFast.
Add your pace (“at 5:30 per km”), where it starts, or a short note of up to 600 characters, and they go on with it. Without a pace, it uses 6:00 per km. See casual run or race.
Who it’s for
A run you plan for yourself is private: only you see it in RunFast, and it’s never published or on a club’s page. If you manage a club, livedot asks first whether it’s for you or for the club. See private run or club run.
A run or race you make shared starts as a draft and goes public only when you ask livedot to publish it and confirm. Then it’s on its own page at runfast.tech/r/…, and on your club’s page if it’s a club’s.
One route per run
RunFast saves one route for each run or race. If you attach several GPX files, livedot doesn’t join them up: it asks you to make one run per file. A route can be up to 250 km.
Planning a multi-day tour by bike? Windline, RunFast’s cycling sister in the livedot family, makes tours of several days: see windline.tech.
Good to know
- Change it later from the chat: the name, the note, where it starts, the date and the time. For a weekly run’s days, open it in the app.
- Nothing in Past changes. A finished run or race stays as it was; Run it again in the app makes a new one. See past runs and races.
- Runs from Strava stay private to you: livedot never reads, changes or publishes them.
